Why do we need change in our lives?
Why do we want to run for the hills when something in our lives is about to change?
Some people thrive on change, but the majority of us get into a panic and we start putting ourselves into stress mode. Which is not helpful at all. We focus on the problems not the solutions.
There are two types of change, the one we have control of and the one we don't. But First let's look at some of the issues most of us seem to have with change.

The reasons we hate change can be categorised as follows:
1. Fear of the unknown
2. Lack of confidence in our abilities
3. Having to make decisions
4. Being uncomfortable
5. Lack of motivation

If something is not working, we fix it. Shouldn't this apply to our lives as well? IF we find ourselves in a rut and what we are doing is no longer working, shouldn't we try to fix it by finding a better solution. How does that widely used phrase go? "We keep doing the same old thing over and over again expecting a different result." This is so true!!
Everyone likes routine, well most of us do, it's easy, it's comfortable, but oh my word it's boring!!!

Change can cause stress and anxiety, but it needn't be the bad stress, it can be good stress if we allow it. Those feelings we get when we get excited, butterflies in our stomach and the giddy sensation we feel when we have made the decision to do something that's going to make us feel really good, motivated and moving forward.
NOW THAT'S LIVING!!!
NOW THAT'S LIVING!!!
The big problem and question we have to ask ourselves is: "HOW are we going to do this?" A few suggestions.
1. Tell yourself daily "I want something new and exciting in my life." If you are part of a family unit, get them involved. If the change is not within your control, embrace it and be part of the process.
2. Think positively - go with it and make it a step forward in the right direction, a new window of opportunity, a new door opening to something exciting, whatever you want to call it but be positive about it.
3. Think of change as a way of growing and developing your own self image, self worth.
If we embrace change we can expect to have:

- More excitement in our lives
- A more fulfilling and happy life
- Gain insight and wisdom
- More inner strength
- New opportunities opening up to us
- More flexibility in the way we think
There is only one thing we have complete control over and that is the way we think. Thinking with a positive attitude gives us the confidence to deal with change whether it is good or bad.

Change is constant and happening all around us all the time. We can either change with it and control how it affects us, or stay stagnant and let it control us. It's a choice only we can make. Let's make the right choice.
